some of the craft activities
This is a dolls house that we made together. It's a great way to use left over boxes and scraps of paper and material from sewing projects. Today one of the Baha'is in our community gifted Shiori with a lovely dolls house that she used to play with when she was a little girl, so I have a feeling that this one will be soon retired. We'll probably take it apart and make some other craft out of it :) Last week it was the birthday of one of our friends, so Shiori and I decided to make a gift together. Shiori decided that a bunny rabbit would be a fun idea. It was actually a great craft to do with her as she enjoyed stuffing the bunny with wadding, choosing the fabrics for the clothes and selecting the adornments. She even enjoyed helping with some of the stitching. This was a slow process where I would sew the needle in and she would pull it out, so it was team work stitch by stitch. This project certainly took all day, in intervils of course. Shiori then picked out the fabric for the draw string 'wrapping bag.' I'm looking forward to our next sewing project together as it was something we both enjoyed a lot

Puppeteer David Logan
Puppeteer David Logan states, "Puppetry is a highly effective and dynamically creative means of exploring the richness of interpersonal communication. By its very nature, puppetry concentrates on the puppet rather than the puppeteer. This provides a safety zone for the puppeteer and allows for exploration of unlimited themes through a safe and non-threatening environment for communication." [3] He adds, "Designing a puppet involves the same processes that a performer uses in building a character. A puppet must always have a valid reason for being. The marvellous thrill of puppetry is that puppets by their very nature do things that are not humanly possible. This allows for the imagination to explore countless different possibilities." [4]
Animation is a related but essentially different process from puppetry. Animating objects in time-based media such as film or video is a simulation of movement created by displaying a series of pictures, or frames, whereas puppetry is the live manipulation of figures

Deposit now! Online bank check deposits through your PC
Suppliers of remote deposit processing services are offering the latest technology in online Depositnow services today. Depositnow is a system that makes it possible for companies to process their check deposits at the very comfort of their company PC using Windows Vista Business and PASS ™ (payments as a secure service) via PASS commerce center. DepositNow allows you the ability to scan your checks using a desktop PC and process your bank deposits online. This electronic deposit technology innovation can be used and is compatible with the system requirements and programs of any banks in US so there is no need to change banks. What remains to be the only the requirement is the addition and installation of the Depositnow program to your PCs.
Avoid costly time consuming trips, travel accident insurance of your staff and make your callback of check deposits right at the security of your offices. Turn your PCs into a powerful banking tool by integrating Depositnow into your system. There is no need to fret about regulating your check acceptance and have everything typewritten because Depositnow can read handwritten dollar amount on a check. Another good feature of the program is its ability to match correct customer and invoice with your present Quickbook or PeachTree accounting programs.
This online bank deposit technology practically saves you a lot of variable expense including monitoring and recording of your account receivables and invoicing. Keep your checks at your company’s vault for retrieval only in cases of returned checks or miscellaneous internal transaction reconciliation at month end. Corrections on entry are easier done online as long as you do it within bank clearing cut off time. Otherwise everything can be done on the next banking day.
Remote deposits became legal in US since 2004 but less people have been using the technology for two obvious reasons: unsubstantial information and conservative view that seems to resist change. A kind of an observe and take later technology is good but four years had already passed and everything has been going smoothly because the makers of Depositnow created and integrated high security feature in the system. Trust that your businesses will run smoothly without reducing your profit equation as you enjoy the technology’s cost and convenience benefits. You don’t have to make an issue on the official business travel time of your staff anymore and no more fear of physically losing checks. The transaction is web based and can be done even when offline. So you can save your transactions if you have high volume of check deposits as you go with work and transmit it one time online.
Handling of checks is only from your customer to your accounting staff in charge of keeping the checks and the Depositnow processing. Reduce the risk of losing checks and erroneous entry. Think of the old system processing paper flow. The check comes from your customers to your sales then to accounting for recording then to your deposit-in-charge. The deposit-in-charge goes out of your company’s premises to your bank holding a travel accident insurance policy and another policy for the total value protection of the deposit. The receiving teller accepts the deposit, encodes the amount which may make your man return to the bank the next day if there are any errors in the validation for reconciliation. The check then goes to the bank’s accounting and clearing officers to be sent or relayed to the drawing bank whichever is their system. If you use Depositnow it would only be two ways, from your customer it goes to your accounting department for recording and transmittal of deposits then stays at your vault forever and goes out only if you have problems with any of the check transactions. Isn’t that beautiful? You have total control of your physical checks, of your employee’s time, less insurance premium policies and you definitely are given the opportunity to make your own callback of transactions at your offices. Depositnow has been awarded a Tax & Accounting Technology Innovation Award last June 2007 for its time saving contribution in small business accounting by the CPA Technology Advisor which is a leading technology magazine for accountants.
Depositnow has proudly developed their own scanner at a reduced price of only $225 or less that works as a regular scanner for your other business transactions and at the same time acts as a special scanner for your bank check deposits. What’s the benefit of buying the additional scanner from Depositnow? Mainly cost benefits at half the price compared from the other scanners being sold in the open market and other distinct features that are system friendly. Simply scan the front and back of the check to be able to upload its electronic image and transmit your deposit over the internet in a secure server to your bank. Please go to the site http://www.depositnow.com to read more of its product features and to order for your scanners.
Please note that ordinary PC scanners can still be used for the program but if you are going to buy a new one I would advise buying their scanners with additional features.
In the site you may opt to sign up for their online deposit service and enter my blog’s name Silent Writer as a promo code when you order. The cost of the plan is dependent on your volume of check transaction per month. Please inquire at the site’s toll free call service or email contact form for their guidelines and security requirements to make you feel more confident in using their service. Remember time is very relevant with Depositnow because you get to deposit your checks on date and get your checks cleared in less processing time.

So what Gift you chosse for Mother's Day?
"It's so much fun to create," Peresin said. "It truly is an experience unto itself."
Every story has a bead. And every bead has a story, they pointed out.
Some beads take their inspiration from mythology, astrology, or fairy tales, while others are inspired by symbolic images and familiar things in everyday life.
For example, there's a lucky knot bead for good luck and happiness. And there's a three-in-one bead, which combines three rings into one as a symbol of unity. It was one of the first Trollbeads created.
An opal for loyalty, amethyst for peace of mind, a garnet for devotion and grace, turquoise for courage and success, and the lapis lazuli for competence are brought together in one bead to signify wisdom.
There are more than 500 different Trollbeads available -- everything from favourite flowers to zodiac signs, initials, hearts and stars.
"New Trollbeads are released three to four times per year," Goodman said. "At the same time, several existing beads are retired. As a result, the line is constantly evolving and changing."
The Trollbeads collection is designed by 18 Danish and internationally renowned designers.
Beads are made from 18-karat gold, sterling silver, Italian Murano glass, natural pearls and precious stones. Prices run the gamut. Silver beads range from $26 to $45, for example, while Murano glass beads are $35 to $45. At the top end, there are 18-karat gold beads with glass/stones for hundreds of dollars, including the Wisdom bead for $736 and the Three Flowers bead for $547. There's also an 18-karat gold model with diamonds -- the Yes! bead -- which retails for $1,200.

Bazaar a showcase for handicrafts
The 1993 fair found that most who participate in these types of events make items for the festive season.
AWA chairperson Betty Niemann said that the event attracted 80 to 100 participants last year and more were expected this year.
Ms Niemann also changed the event's title from a craft fair to a bazaar to allow more people to participate.
"Living in Bahrain with its Middle Eastern culture, the word 'bazaar' seemed more appropriate than market or fair," said Ms Niemann.
Many of the items for sale make excellent gift items and souvenirs for those expatriates returning to their home countries during the summer holidays, she said.
This year marks the AWA's 11th spring fundraising event.
There are still many who participate and there has been a strong participation of fine artists.
Some of the commercial businesses of today were non-crafting participants testing the market to see if the items they were selling were popular and profitable enough to sustain a business.
Ms Niemann said that the Good Life Gallery, Frankie's and Desert Diamonds are all businesses whose owners tested the market in either the Bazaar, Craft Fair or both.
In addition, both the AWA Bazaars and Craft Fairs have supported local charities with the participation of Sneha, the BSPCA, Awal Women's Society, Al Wafa and Al Rashad Centres, Belize Orphanage, and the Craft Centre to name a few.
Table prices would range from BD6 to BD30 and the event will continue from 1pm to 6pm on the day.
Entry is 500 fils and proceeds from the event will be used towards the AWA's various community service projects.

University of Denver's HANDICRAFTS
Anna and a young customer discuss the merchandise.
Another happy customer. There were lots of "Oooooos" and "Ahhhhhhs" throughout the evening.
We were informed by these and several other boys that we are totally lame for not having any "more masculine" jewelry. We're still not sure what that means, exactly, but we've sent it out to our Research and Development unit for further exploration.
working behind the scenes
You may be wondering what the Bead Women of A Little Something have been up to. It seems we are all sick!
Our local school district is also on spring break, so everyone is busy taking care of kids, traveling, and generally living life.
In the meantime, exciting things are on the horizon. After tizzying herself with the dizzying mountains of information related to nonprofit startups, Sharon met with an attorney who attempted to unravel the confounding mysteries of the 501c(3).
Our deepest gratitude goes out to Elle Tauer, attorney, of Greenwood & Tauer, P.C. Elle will donate her time to walk us through the process of becoming a bona fide nonprofit organization, one registered with the state and the IRS.
This is a huge, huge step in our growth, and something we never could have figured out for ourselves. It's a daunting step, though, and it gives us a lot of food for thought regarding the future of the women we serve and the organization we are to become. It is not something to be taken lightly.
Perhaps we need to outfit Elle with some really cool, handmade jewelry.
In other news, we're planning to take as many of the women as we can to the big bead show coming to Denver next month. We're lining up big passenger vans, babysitters, admission-ticket money, and classes. We hope to enroll all of the women in classes so they can have the experience of learning alongside other jewelry makers. We also want them to see the big picture, so to speak, as it pertains to bead shopping. We'll reward the teenaged babysitters by taking them to the show the following day, and doing the whole thing all over again.
We hope that this field trip will give the women a better understanding of how beads are sold, new techniques yet to be learned, and how to budget their money when standing in the face of massive, bead-buying temptation. Wish us luck.

Fair trades
Why Buy Fair Trade Gifts This Holiday Season
2007 has been marked by unprecedented growth in social, economic and environmental consciousness around the world. As we open our eyes to the reality that is socioeconomic inequality, environmental destruction and the exploitation of workers in underdeveloped countries, it can seem overwhelming. One person, after all, can only do so much. We live in a world where the dollar rules. Though this may seem unfortunate in many ways, it also gives us the power to make our voices heard with every dollar we spend. Vote with your dollars and be conscious of the impact your purchases have on the lives of others. Fair trade products make great gifts. Not only will the person receiving your fair trade gift be pleased, but it sends a message to the Big Box stores that we're not going to stand for their strong-arm tactics of beating down the price from local artisans and factories in third world countries to the point where they're forced to save money by cutting costs elsewhere in areas like being environmentally responsible, worker's rights, healthcare and product safety.
How Do You Know If It's Fair Trade?
That's the million-dollar question. Really, there's not much stopping unscrupulous companies from claiming something is fair trade and slapping some bogus label on it. But there are a few Fair Trade labels you can trust, including those from the Fair Trade Federation (see link below), and Trans Fair USA.
Where Can You Find Fair Trade Products?
There are many places on the web to buy fair trade products, including Gaiam (http://www.gaiam.com/retail/2/fairtrade) and the Two Hands Workshop (http://twohandsworldshop.com/). Whether you are shopping for fair trade clothing / apparel and jewelry, or would like to give the gift of fair trade handicrafts and toys, enlightened shops have begun to pop up not only on the web, but in local areas too. As for the Internet, all you have to do is search Google for "Fair Trade Gifts", "Fair Trade Crafts" or whatever it is that you're looking for and there is no shortage of opportunities to make conscious buying decisions. A good place to start finding fair trade products locally is to visit your nearest organic foods store (try Wild Oats or Whole Foods if you don't have smaller ones closer) and ask the people who work there. Eco Mall (http://www.ecomall.com/biz/) has an impressive list of eco-conscious and socially conscious stores from around the world. Another great place to find local fair trade stores is the Fair Trade Federation's Directory of Members by State and Territory (http://www.fairtradefederation.org/memret.html) .
Products Available at Fair Trade Stores
In general, you can find just about anything you want while shopping for fair trade holiday gifts. However, there are certain types of fair trade products that tend to be more readily available than others. These include: Crafts / handicrafts, jewelry, organic cotton bedding and fabric, clothing and apparel, coffee, rice and other food items.

Bracelets are in latest trendz
Unlike some other kinds of jewellery, bracelets are incredibly diverse. You can make a bracelet from almost any material you can think of, whether it’s metal, fabric, leather, glass, wire or plastic, or natural materials like shells and stones. Bracelets are both cheap to buy and easy to make, so it’s easy to personalise them to your taste and give them as gifts to your friends. Many people cherish bracelets that they have been given, especially little girls, who will collect friendship bracelets to represent each one of their friends.
If you want to make a bracelet yourself, the easiest way to do it is probably to get some beads and a piece of string. Threads woven together can also work well, as can shells if you make tiny holes in them to thread a string through. The best thing to do is to keep the bracelet as a flat string, and then tie it around the hand of the person you’re giving it to so that it fits well.
Another interesting use of bracelets, only invented quite recently, is the charity bracelet. These are usually made from silicone, and bear a slogan such as ‘make poverty history’ or ‘help the aged’. The idea is that if you see someone wearing one, you are likely to mention it, and then they will tell you a little about the cause and why it matters to them – a good way of getting people to talk about charities they care about.
In some parts of the world, bracelets have special meanings. In India, for example, they are often made from glass, and make a musical-sounding noise when the arm is moved. In Latin America, it is believed that bracelets made from gold and coral can scare away evil spirits, protecting the wearer from the jealousy of others.

Some Creative Handicraft: Potholder From Scrap Fabrics
If you have a sewing machine, you can learn to make a creative handicraft that will be a useful and welcome gift. Potholders are a great beginning sewing project that can be made from scrap material or unwanted clothing and a bit of double-fold bias tape. Here are the simple instructions for this creative handicraft.
First cut two 8-inch (21 cm.) squares of fabric to be the front and back of the potholder. Choose coordinating fabrics that match your kitchen for these pieces. To make it easier, you can make an 8-inch square pattern from a piece of cardboard to use as a pattern. Cut more 8-inch squares of any old fabric to stack for the filling. You want the stack of fabric squares to be thick enough to protect you from a hot pot, but thin enough to be flexible and able to be sewn through.
Stack all layers so that the outer layers are facing to the outside and the filler layers are inside. You can put a couple of large straight pins through all layers to keep them together. Now sew right across the middle of the stack. Sew across the middle again, perpendicular to the first stitching. You will have divided the square into 4 squares. Sew across the stack again from corner to corner, and again from the other corner to corner. The layers should be joined and sturdy now.
To bind off the raw edges of your creative handicraft, trim with scissors so that all the layers are again even at the edges. Open out one folded edge of the bias tape. The wider bias tape might seem to be easier to use, but the narrow type makes a neater finished product. Starting at one corner, line up the edges of the tape with the edges of the potholder, and start stitching through all layers along the first fold line, which will be about 1/4 inch from the edge. Stitch neatly and slowly, attaching the opened tape all around the edge until you reach the beginning corner. Cut the bias tape off, leaving 3 inches, (7 cm.) to make into a hanging loop.
Fold the bias tape over the raw edge so that the middle fold lines up with the outside of the potholder and the other fold is hiding the raw edge of the bias tape. Now, for best results, hand sew the binding down, forming a loop on your creative handicraft when you get to the end.

A perfect personal injury compensation service
Hence after searching over the Internet, I at last found a useful site which offered personal injury compensation service which covers the situation that I have faced. Hence those who have already faced problems with those companies who did not provide compensations with some silly reasons, this is a very good site which can be trusted. You can get money for any type of Accident Claims. So I would recommend you to visit this site.
Impressive Handicrafts
-handcrafted and painted bamboo and paper umbrellas. They make everything by hand, the paper, the bamboo supports, and they even apply a shellac to make them waterproof.
-silk clothing is an exception in that most of it is done by machines but they did have an exhibit on how the silk worm grows, spins its cocoon and then how the coccoons are harvested and turned into silk thread.
-the celadon ceramic factory was really impressive. The process is quite a long one and the end result is really beautiful.
-There was a teak and rosewood furniture store and some of the designs were extremely labour intensive and artistic. We saw one rosewood dining table (probably 6 feet by 3) where the entire top had been carved into a 3 dimensional village tableau complete with trees, buildings, landscaping, people, animals, carts, and tools. It took a year to carve. We really liked some of the teak dining tables and the rosewood desks. Unfortunately while the prices may be somewhat discounted compared to what you'd pay in Canada they are not exactly in our price range.
-silver and tin smithing was interesting but not nearly as impressive as the wood carving.

Is it true that billions are being transferred on credit cards?
I was really surprised after seeing this because I never expected this much from credit cards. And as so many or willing to clear credit card debts, the debt consolidation loans will be a very good alternative for transferring a balance between credit cards. The southwest is the place where many people are willing to clear their credit card debts. I think this is a very good chance for those people who are giving loans.
I just saw this news from a very famous website which provide Homeowner Loans. I think you may be familiar with this website.

She then weaves exquisite frames of pearls, stones, and beads around each precious object.
In other cases, she sculpturally beads a lively combination of unusual pearls, semi-precious stones, Swarovski crystals, and glass beads, transforming them into vibrant wearable art.
Every creation contains one common element: Pearls (a.k.a. the Mermaid's Jewelz).
"I'm passionate about pearls…the textures, their luster, how wonderful they feel and how radiant they look against the skin. That's why I incorporate them into all of my sculptural adornments."

charming gifts for Valentines
I am a stay-home mom and I love being able to see my daughter grow everyday... with that said I also need something to keep me sane. So I make stuff! I just recently started making jewelry so it is my habit right now but I also love making anything on my computer. I do all of my scrapbooking digitally. I create Christmas cards, birth announcements, birthday invitations etc. I have a degree in graphic design so that is my passion. I would never actually work in the advertising world (too much pressure) but I love using those skills for personal use or for friends, ets. I love to look at a craft and figure out how to make it myself. That is why my shop is kind of ecclectic. Anyway, I live in Dallas and I will ship to anywhere. Outside of the USA there is an additional charge though.
Below are a couple of her unique pieces that would make charming gifts this Valentines!

Trendz
I ordered the gown and bodysuit that came with the ad to get the closest look. :)
The sleeves are a bit different from the photo because Reem doesn't offer that particular bodysuit since it's only for the ad and it's houte couture. Boo! :P

Dear Readers,
I would like to retract and apologize for my unfair review of Eva Poon. Like all sisters, I am not here to destroy a supplier or anything. My husband did not recall his discussion with Eva on the song charge - which is an extra charge from the hosting charge that was indicated on her contract that my husband gave me to file and review. We later decided on having song and he didn't inform me of the extra charge thus he was later surprised on the wedding night to have to pay the song charge.
Please see the REVISED REVIEW of Eva Poon below that I honestly give in pure sincerity.
MC: Eva Poon (MNL)
Rating: A++++++++
- delivered well on the day; impressive and problem-solver, especially when we had one of our guests wanting to sing unexpectedly and out of the program schedule
- some turn-offs: very opinionated especially on certain suppliers but it's a personality that comes helpful to those who are unsure of certain suppliers that one books since she has most likely seen a lot of weddings to give an opinion.
I apologize profusely for any confusion this as cause any brides who booked or are interested of Eva. I have edited everything and again, apologize profusely for this miscommunication.
Regards,

There are something which you need to pay attention to batik cloth to caring or cloth them remaining beauty among others shall be as follows :
1. Cleaning a batik cloth by using hair shampoo. Previously, dissolving shampoo first till no more part of jelling. Afterwards newly batik cloth plunged. You also can use special detergent soap for the cloth of batik, which is sold in the market.
2. If washing batik don't be rubb and don't use detergent. If your batik is not too dirty, you can clean it with warm water. But if your batik is hit by stain it is enough to clean it with toilet soap. However if its stain still there, you may use the peel of orange to the dirty part. Don't clean batik cloth by using washing machine.
3. After the dirt has lose, you have to put to the shady place but you don't to need to extort it, let the cloth run dry naturally. At the time of putting to the sun you better draw part of cloth edge to be re-folded cloth fibre like former.
4. Avoid ironing directly, if too tousled you can spray water above your batik cloth then arrange in be the layers to your batik with other cloth. This matter to avoid your batik cloth hit by direct heat of iron.
5. When you wish to give deodorant and softener of cloth on batik tulis, don't be sprayed directly. Previously, close over first cloth with newspaper, then spray the deodorant and the softener of cloth. you better not spray direct perfume or perfume to clothes or cloth of silk batik have natural colourant.
6. After ironed you would better kept your batik in plastic in order not to be eaten by moth. You would better not to give camphor because this is solid substance is too hard so that can destroy your batik cloth. It is better you give wrapped peppercorn with last tissue pack into your wardrobe to dissipate moth. Or you can use previous fragrant root and you dyed into hot water is later put to the sun, is then died again into hot water and put to the sun. After the fragrant root runs dry you newly can use it.
- Triple Black Waterfall (E.bl.1.07b):
This waterfall pair is made of three lines of black iridescent beads in three sections, joined by silver rings.
- I had my first sale and custom job this past weekend. A friend of my mother's ordered and bought a pair of red and black earrings (to match her daughter's cheerleading outfit) similar to the red and black dangles pictured below, but smaller and shorter. As always, I am pleased to put together custom earrings, necklaces or bracelets for the right occaison (a gift for your mom or girlfriend, or something that matches a particular outfit for a dance, a wedding, or just for fun).

Some new beaded crafts for new year 2008
Beaded handicrafts expanding very highly and its also getting very high response in international market, India is a country of crafts, handicrafts may be only India have a great experience to create beaded handicrafts. And with his good quality many foreigners attract toward India and getting good stuffs from here to decorate their houses, offices etc.
Now here we have one new good beaded boxes and mobiles stand which are very attractive and manufactured with red beads and black genuine fabric and we also used him shells and Frozea stone which is very costly in international market. And its very impressive.
Pictured to the left is an illustration of a scene from “East O’ the Sun, West O’ the Moon” in which the main character is taken by a polar bear into a castle inside a cliff wall. I found the composition strong but the balance of dark and light could use some improvement. Clearly at this point I still needed some practice. (Right: detail of the border)
Fashionista's Gift Guide ... With Some Help From Lauren Conrad and Rachael Leigh Cook
They may live in mansions and travel by private jet, but young starlets aren’t much different than your sister or mom. They appreciate the simple pleasures in life — such as purple shoes and pink bags. FOXNews.com spoke with Hollywood hotties Rachael Leigh Cook and Lauren Conrad to find out what’s big this holiday season. Their response? Fashion, fashion and more fashion! (If the woman in your life is far from a fashionista, search for more ideas.) A Shoo-In "What women really want is shoes," Cook, of "She's All That" fame, told FOXNews.com. "And it's not impossible to do if you check her size" and buy the same brand, she said. "Tracing the sole of her favorite shoe on a piece of paper to bring to the department store would also work," she added. Paris Hilton’s stylists Emily Current and Meritt Elliott agreed. “We’re always getting calls from our clients looking for the perfect boot for the cold,” Current and Elliott said in an e-mail. “We also find ourselves on the phone searching for a great holiday heel in just their size. We love Cesare Paciotti and Signature Report!”
Beadwork
Hey,
Well a friend of mine threw a beading party tonight. It was so much fun! Ah, I had a blast. And she had some new beads I hadn't seen before (so I got some *smile*). I told my friends I had started a "blog" and that they should check it out. They laughed at me. That's ok though because I just can't help but share this wonderful creative craft. I think everyone should learn it.
Aren't they just georgeous? Best of all they are so easy to make! Oh I think I'm in love.
So how about you. Do you have a blog? Did your friends laugh at you when you started it? Should I keep it up or are my friends right and I should give it up (not that I could)? Please post a comment - you can remain anonymous :)
I'm off to bed. I'll be sure to post soon!

Tips for Men's clothing
You are 100% correct about everything fashionable not working for everyone. I don't think you should go down the "trendy" route per say. Go for classic cuts that flatter your body type. Some basics you should start with: a pair of dark-wash straight-leg jeans, a pair of black dress pants, tan dress pants, dark colored button-up shirts, a nice fitted sweater (NO, not the tight turtleneck ones--opt for a looser version), and some everyday shoes like brown dress boots.
When you walk into a store, look around before you do anything else. If you look at clothes and think: these aren't for me, then move on. American eagle is a great store for basics that are a little more casual. They have nice khaki pants and jeans, and a few fun buttons up shirts. Express Men's is another store I recommend. There, you will find dressier stuff, like black and tan dress pants, and some dressier tops.
Don't be afraid to ask sales people for help--that's their job and you will probably save them the boredom of standing around with nothing to do. First, look around the entire store. If you find something you might like, try it on, or ask a sales person if they think it would work well for you, and what to wear with it. They will be glad to help, I promise.
And the most important rule is to try everything on! Make sure that it fits properly before you buy it (ask a trusted friend or a salesperson).
For basic everyday wear, I always love guys in nice fitting jeans (not too short or too tight and something with a dark wash). Steer clear of really light wash Levis. They are not flattering on anyone. For dressier pants, a nice khaki pant is always good. For these, it is worth it to spend a little money because you will get more wear out of them. So they should fit really well.
You can actually find nice ones at the gap or men's express. For casual-wear, t shirts are always good. I'm a fan of the ones that have a bit of a vintage feel. Just make sure that the shirt is fitted. Most guys buy shirts way too big and the end result is that they look sloppy. It shouldn't be ridiculously skin-tight, but it should lay against the skin a bit. For dressier shirts, I LOVE express for men. I promise they aren't paying me to tell you this, but that store is great for guys.
They have really nice button up shirts for $25 and they fit really well, because they have a bit of stretch in them. They have so many different colors. Do yourself a favor and stay away from pink and purple. Not many guys can pull it off and it's too tricky. Go for a blue shirt to match your eyes. Probably any darker color would go well with your hair...dark green, burgundy, etc. So those are all the basics. Get yourself a good pair of jeans, a nice pair of khakis, a few fitted t-shirts, and a couple button down shirts and you should be good to go.
